Day 1
Travel to Boston
Arrive in Boston, Massachusetts with an included transfer to your hotel. Meet your Tour Manager in the hotel lobby at 6:00 p.m. for a welcome dinner.
Day 2
Boston City Tour & Plymouth Rock
Over 350 years of history await you on a sightseeing tour of Boston’s historic Freedom Trail including Boston Common, America’s oldest park, Park Street Church, founded in 1809 and the Old Corner Bookstore, home to the 19th-century publishers Ticknor and Fields.
Enjoy free time for lunch at Faneuil Hall before heading to the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum. Located on the waterfront overlooking the city that launched him to greatness the JFK Presidential Museum features multimedia exhibits and period settings from the White House offering an exciting "you are there" experience. Later, come to Plymouth.
Day 3
Plimoth Patuxet & Whale Watching Cruise
Make a stop at Plymouth Rock, the historic site of the first landing before coming to Plimoth Patuxet. This living history museum interprets the 17th-century Plymouth Colony established by the Pilgrims. Costumed inhabitants will show you colony life during the period through cooking, planting and blacksmithing. In the afternoon climb aboard your seagoing vessel for an exciting whale watching excursion.
Head out to Cape Bay and Stellwagen Bank, a marine sanctuary and primary feeding grounds for humpback, finback and the endangered right whales. Be sure to dress warm to enjoy this exciting adventure on the water.
Day 4
Cape Cod Dune Tour & the Schooner Hindu
Today, trade in the motorcoach for a special SUV and roll out into the Peaked Hill Bars Historic District Sand Dunes. Learn the history and ecology of the dunes from your knowledgeable guide. Then climb aboard the newly rebuilt Schooner Hindu for a narrated sailing excursion on Cape Cod Bay.
Day 5
Martha’s Vineyard
This morning, ferry to the resort island of Martha’s Vineyard, a playground for many rich and famous, including former President Clinton. The island’s coast has astounding cliffs at Aquinnah with spectacular shoreline views. Visit the village of Edgartown with its quaint gingerbread cottages and narrow streets.
Day 6
Newport Sightseeing & the Mansions
Entering the smallest New England state, arrive in Newport, Rhode Island. A local guide shows you this fascinating seaport. Famous not only for its maritime history and scenic ten-mile long Ocean Drive, Newport houses some fabulous summer homes built here during America’s glamorous Gilded Age.
Visit Vanderbilt’s Breakers Mansion and the impressive Marble House to get a glimpse of how America’s most elite families lived at the turn of the century.
Day 7
Old Sturbridge Village
In the town Sturbridge, Massachusetts sits Old Sturbridge Village. The day is dedicated to this 200-acre living history museum which recreates life in rural New England during the 1790s through 1830s period. Later continue to your hotel to gather for a farewell dinner hosted by your Tour Manager.
Day 8
Travel Home
After breakfast, your group transfer brings you to Boston’s Logan Airport for flights out after 12:00 p.m.
