Golden State Train Ride & Railroad Museum

All aboard as we journey to Campo for an exploration of railroading in our own backyard! Begin your day with a stop at the Viejas Casino & Outlet Mall, where you'll have time on your own for lunch, shopping, or to try your hand at Lady Luck. Then we’ll head east where you'll enjoy the rugged backcountry scenery of San Diego County during a 45-minute round-trip ride on the Golden State train along the historic San Diego & Arizona Railway toward the Mexican border. Witness stunning views of the open landscape, distant hills, and sprawling valleys from an exclusive vantage point. Then, explore the Pacific Southwest Railway Museum and its living history approach to preserving the physical legacy, historical context, cultural environment, and experience of railroading in the region. With over 80 artifacts on display, alongside vintage locomotives and train cars from the early 20th century, this museum offers a unique way to learn about rail travel and its background.

This tour involves walking on uneven surfaces and steep steps onto and off of the vintage railroad cars. Considerable walking may be required at the depot and Viejas Outlet mall. Elevators may not be present at all destinations. This tour may be challenging for persons with mobility limitations.

14-Day Cancellation Deadline

• If you purchased the optional Cancellation Protection Plan (CPP) prior to the deadline, you can cancel your booking at any time for any reason and you'll receive a full refund of the tour fare.

• If you declined the CPP, you may cancel your reservation fourteen (14) or more days prior to the departure date to receive a refund less a $15 per person cancellation fee. Alternatively, when you cancel your booking fourteen (14) or more days prior to the departure date, you can avoid the cancellation fee by transferring the funds to another tour or a non-refundable voucher, which can be applied to any future excursion booked within one year of the original tour date. Bookings canceled within 14 days of the departure date are nonrefundable and nontransferable for any reason. Name changes on daytrips are always permitted at no additional cost.
