Experience the enchantment of autumn at the Huntington Library in San Marino. Wander the Art Museum and explore a world-class collection featuring nearly 50,000 works spanning almost 2,000 years. View one of the most significant collections of British art outside of the United Kingdom and stroll 31 galleries of American art ranging from the early Colonial period to the present.

 

This October, visit during the annual International Orchid Show & Sale, a showcase of lush displays by local and regional orchid societies and international growers. Discover the amazing biodiversity as hundreds of exotic blooms compete for honors. See permanent floral residents like the oldest known orchid in California, thriving for over 115 years, and one of the largest orchid plants in the country with more than 1000 flowers.

 

Enjoy five hours at your leisure to admire artistic masterpieces and wander 130 acres of botanical paradise. Find peace in the Chinese Garden of Flowering Fragrance and greet the koi fish in the Lily Ponds. Savor lunch on your own at one of the eateries amid this wondrous setting.

This tour is rated high activity due to considerable inclines, declines, and occasional steps to access the gardens. There is also gravel and uneven terrain. There are not many shaded areas and minimal places to sit.

Current Closures

• As of summer 2026, the Library exhibition halls are closed due to construction of the Library/Art Building (LAB), a once-in-a-century project that will restore the historic public-facing wing of the 1919 Library exhibition halls and modernize back-of-house spaces for today. Library materials are on view across the campus.

• “This Land Is …” exhibition: 

  Closed October 6-16, 2026 for light-sensitive rotations.

14-Day Cancellation Deadline

• If you purchased the optional Cancellation Protection Plan (CPP) prior to the deadline, you can cancel your booking for any reason up until 1 hour prior to tour departure and you'll receive a full refund of the tour fare, less the cost of the CPP.

• If you declined the CPP, you may cancel your reservation fourteen (14) or more days prior to the departure date to receive a refund less a $15 per person cancellation fee. Alternatively, when you cancel your booking fourteen (14) or more days prior to the departure date, you can avoid the cancellation fee by transferring the funds to another tour or a non-refundable voucher, which can be applied to any future excursion booked within one year of the original tour date. Bookings canceled within 14 days of the departure date are nonrefundable and nontransferable for any reason. Name changes on daytrips are permitted at no additional cost if they do not require pre-clearance, such as with tours visiting government facilities.
